Before the arrival of the Internet, our experience with Client/Server was limited to writing Visual Basic applications that connected over the LAN to an ODBC compliant database. And while that was extremely useful to our clients, the arrival of the Internet literally opened up the world. Now the client can be on one side of the world, and the server on another. We have experience writing two and three tier applications using technologies such as Perl, VB, SOAP and XML in an Intranet, Internet and Extranet environment. An application that collects household and building condition and land use information in urban areas. The data can be entered using a Palm Pilot or via a web interface.

A database system that manages projects for a non-profit community organization. System tracks resources, funding, and progress of community projects against clearly defined goals.

Client is in the business of testing product's compliance with various industry standards, and they needed a way to document the standards and the answers to a whole host of standard related questions that their clients regularly ask them. We developed a web interface that incorporated search engine technology for their users to find knowledgebase articles. We also created a VB application that managed the creation of knowledgebase articles including the use of notification emails to inform the publishing manager of a new article to approve, and the use of on-line forms to approve the article for publication to the knowledgebase.

Software company needed to create a web based administration program for their customer support staff to use. Included functionality to check customer account status, use Protection Plus to generate new licenses, enter support tickets for the software developers to handle, enter/edit general news items that are displayed on their web site, enter/edit urgent alerts that are displayed on their website as well as emailed to registered users, and display various administrative management reports.

A prison needed a way to keep track of employee information such as personnel data, uniform allowance expenditures, disciplinary measures, sick, training history, vacation and personal time, requested time off and requested overtime. They also needed a mechanism for scheduling which guards can work in what parts of the prison as well as scheduling the right mix of guards. We wrote a client server application to provide this functionality.
