We Make It Happen

ADSI History

Analytical Design Solutions, Inc. was incorporated in 1991 to provide consulting support for engineering and manufacturing organizations. The company founders were both mechanical engineers by training and saw the rapid changes that were affecting the field of engineering. Mini/Mainframe applications were rapidly being replaced by Sun workstations, and suddenly every engineer had a box on their desk that rivaled the power of their centralized CPU, and they needed help managing that power. We provided that help, as well as helped to customize their CAD and CAM tools for maximium flexibility, and started training clients.

By the mid-90's, PC's were powerful enough to be useful to the engineering community, and Microsoft released their NT server software, so ADSI added PC support to our networking bag of tricks. The jump into PC's, expanded our horizon beyond engineering and manufacturing organizations and enabled us to help any business.

About this time, the World Wide Web started to take off and our clients quickly saw the usefulness of this technology for sharing information. While we had dabbled in database applications prior to this time, the web really kicked off our thrust into using the power of a database to provide dynamic and useful applications for our clients.

By the turn of the century, Linux had reached a critical mass, and firms once again had a low cost method of using a Unix operating system, so we made sure to have strong capability in this area. The web continued to grow and new technology's such as XML and SOAP were created and enabled ever more sophisticated and robust data handling. PDA's became a force in the market, so we gained experience with developing client/server apps for both the Palm Pilot and the Pocket PC PDA. And finally, in 2001 we entered the world of self-service kiosk software by designing our own kiosk system software called KioWare®.

Where is ADSI headed now? Wherever our clients and new technologies take us. We exist to serve our clients, and we will move in whatever direction that requires.
